Install Adoomi on Webflow
When you finish, a chat bubble sits on every page of your published Webflow site.
Before you start
- Your bot's Status is set to active How to check
- Your website is in the bot's Allowed domains (comma-separated) box How to check
- You can open your Webflow project settings and publish the site
About 5 minutes. You’ll do three things:
- copy your snippet
- paste it into Webflow
- publish and check the bubble
There is no Adoomi app for Webflow. You copy one line of code from your dashboard and paste it into your project settings. Webflow then puts that line on every page of the published site.
Copy the snippet and paste it into Webflow
In the bot sidebar, under Go live, click Install.
Under Install code, click the Webflow tab.
All the platform tabs hand you the same snippet. Only the paste spot changes.
In the Embed code block, click Copy.
The button reads Copied for a couple of seconds.
In Webflow, open Project Settings › Custom Code.
Paste the snippet into Footer Code.
Still in Custom Code, save the settings.
In Webflow, publish the site.
Visitors only get the widget once the site is published.
If it didn’t work
The chat bubble isn't on my Webflow site
- Check
- Open your published site, right-click the page and choose View page source. Search that source for widget.js.
- Fix
- If widget.js is missing, the line never reached the published site. Open Project Settings › Custom Code again, check the snippet is in Footer Code, save, then publish the site.
- Resolved when
- The bubble appears when the page loads.
I can't find Custom Code in my project settings
- Check
- Custom code is one of the Webflow features that depend on the site's plan. Check Webflow's own help for custom code to see what your site includes.
- Fix
- If your site cannot use custom code yet, send the snippet to whoever looks after the site for you. Or email hello@adoomi.ai with your website address and we will work out the route with you.
- Resolved when
- The snippet is saved in Footer Code and the bubble appears on your published site.
I can't see the bubble while I'm working in Webflow
- Check
- Look at the address you have open. The snippet only reaches visitors once you publish.
- Fix
- Publish the site in Webflow, then open your own domain in a new tab.
- Resolved when
- The bubble is there on the published page.
The bubble is there, but every message fails
- Check
- Open the bot's General settings and read the Allowed domains (comma-separated) box. Your site's address has to be in it.
- Fix
- Type your domain in, click Save, then reload your site. One entry of example.com also covers www.example.com.
- Resolved when
- The bot answers your test question.
The Install page says Bot not ready to embed yet.
- Check
- You see that when the bot is not active, or when no domain is allowed yet.
- Fix
- Open the bot's General settings. Set Status to active, put your domain in Allowed domains (comma-separated), then click Save. Reload the Install page. If the message stays, email hello@adoomi.ai and tell us which bot it is.
- Resolved when
- The Install code block and its platform tabs appear.
What this can’t do
- There is no Adoomi app for Webflow. The install is one line of code in Footer Code.
- Footer Code covers the whole published site. To keep the bubble off certain pages, use Hide on these pages under Where the widget appears on the bot's Appearance page.
- Visitors get nothing until you publish. Saving the custom code on its own does not put the bubble on your site.
- The Live on your site pill records your first install only. On a second site it already reads that way, so check that site's own bubble instead.
